little prince and the fox

"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye" (said the fox to the Little Prince) -Antoine de Saint-Exupery, The Little Prince.

one of my favourite books too!  I just love the rose, how she cries, and yearns and gets all in a tizzy….. How each of us becomes special also by being special to each other.  Thanks. love Jane

This is so true…  wish more people in the world would really realize this…. but, I am glad that you do and found it too….

Thank you, everyone! It is a favorite of mine as well! We’ve all been “tamed” by each other, and no doubt tamed by Saint-Exupery and his Little Prince! (: The link above is to the entire text of the book with pictures (yay!) that Saint-Exupery illustrated. I love the pic of the baobab trees (: It is a magical book (:

A few years ago, I wandered into an awesome gift shop in Bogue Inlet, Swansboro, NC. on my way to Emerald Isle. The gift shop sold the most interesting and unique gifts and between some lovely bookends was a hardbound copy of The Little Prince, and I picked it up to find no price tag, so I took it to the shop owner and asked if it were for sale, and she said, “Oh no, that isn’t for sale. It is my personal copy, and I couldn’t part with it. It is just there to set off the bookends.” (grinning) I understood (: I have had several copies and given away several (:

Shel Silverstein books are among my favorites too!
